Provides support for pregnant women and children including:

Nurse-Family Partnership: This evidence-based program pairs women with specially trained nurses early in their pregnancies. It is designed to help mothers have healthy pregnancies, teach them about growth and development and educate them about the dangers of smoking, drinking and drug use in order to have better outcomes. It primarily serves first-time, low-income mothers; however the health department offers it to mothers in need, regardless of income.

Best Beginnings: This is the first program that most pregnant women encounter and is available to any pregnant woman. Its biggest benefit is that women can apply for and receive their acceptance letter for Title 19 (Medicaid) benefits. Referrals to appropriate community resources are also made.

The Welcome Home Program: Serving women who have just given birth regardless of income, this program sends nurses to women's homes to offer breast-feeding support, weigh babies and provide information and education.

Developmental screening: Screenings are fast and free and help you know if your child is meeting age-appropriate developmental milestones.

Early intervention services: Provides free physical, occupational, speech and language therapy services.

Prenatal Care Coordination: Prenatal information and referrals are provided free of charge by a caring professional for all women who request a pregnancy test and/or obstetrical care at the Community Health Center of Central Wyoming.
Early Head Start

Provides free comprehensive early childhood services for low income, at-risk pregnant women and children, programs include:

Home visits: Pregnant women receive one home visit weekly or monthly and can attend socialization groups, which are offered twice a month.

Early Head Start center: Provides wrap-around childcare and daily socialization experiences for children 6 weeks to 3 years old.

Case management: These services help families see new possibilities, as well as set and meet personal goals.
Early KinCare

Head Start

Serves families with children ages 3-5 who are at or below the poverty line. Programs include:

Center-based services: Children come to Head Start four days a week in a preschool setting.

Home based services: Children spend two days a week at Head Start and receive two home visits per month.

Supports women facing unplanned pregnancy, focusing on women most at risk. Services include:

Pregnancy counseling: Advocates and nurses consult with pregnant women and provide pregnancy testing, confirmation of pregnancy using ultrasound, selected STD testing and treatment, pregnancy options consultation and follow-up throughout pregnancy.

Long-term services: The following are offered to patients of the center. Prenatal education as well as programs on adoption and parenting.
Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Program

Promotes good nutrition for women, infants and children in need. It includes:

Supplemental food: WIC provides nutritious supplemental foods and nutrition counseling to low-income women, infants and children up to age 5 who are at nutritional risk. It is a federally-funded special supplemental nutrition program focusing on the link between good nutrition and good health.

Other services: It also offers education, health screenings, breastfeeding support and referrals to health care.
